Tangerine red

The sweet darling of the children

When you think of tangerines, you immediately think of happy childhood days around Christmas time. If you peel a tangerine, the soothing, sweet scent of the essential oil spreads immediately. The origin of the fruit is in Southeast Asia. Early mentions of the tangerine point to Southeast China, Vietnam, Mauritius, Nepal or the Philippines. In southern China, the fruit was already mentioned in pre-Christian texts. The name "tangerine" goes back to the designation for Chinese civil servants, who were called mandarins, to whom the fruit was reserved.

mode of action

The essential oil is particularly popular with children because of its warm, sweet and fruity scent. The main ingredient responsible for this is methyl anthranilate, which has a balancing effect on our nervous system. Like orange oil, tangerine red can also be used against cellulite, nausea and stress. The oil blends well with benzoin, honey, cocoa, patchouli, sandalwood, tonka, and vanilla.

Application to aromatherapy

The oil is ideal as a room fragrance when children cannot fall asleep or are a little upset. It should be noted, however, that in low doses the oil has a strong calming and anxiolytic effect, but in higher doses it is invigorating and stimulating. Children should therefore only use 2-3 drops to scent the room. Our anti-monster spray with tangerine and lavender can help against anxiety and restless states in children.

application on the skin

Mandarin red can be added to massage oil blends for a calming effect. It is best used in combination with lavender. The oil has a strong antispasmodic effect and promotes lymphatic flow. But be careful: pure mandarine oil can help cause skin irritation in children.

A notice:
Please never use essential oils pure, but only mix a few drops of them into a fatty oil so that the recommended number of drops is not exceeded. Other possible uses of an essential oil are, of course, fragrance lamps, nebulizers, diffusers or simply a handkerchief as a carrier material for room scenting, so that the oil can be absorbed through your respiratory tract. Essential oils are the potent essence of a plant, so always be aware of their potency. Essential oils are not suitable for children under 3 years of age.
